Crow’s feet, also known as lateral canthus lines, are what are called dynamic wrinkles. This suggests that the fine lines are often a result of muscle contractions, specifically squinting. There are a number of steps you can take to treat and stop crow’s feet, including Botox injections. Botox is a toxin that when utilized in small doses briefly paralyzes the muscle. When injected into the muscles round the eyes, the patient is prevented from squinting and so from developing crow’s feet.

Find a qualified medical expert to do your Botox injections. Because Botox is a prescription drug and getting injections is a medical procedure, you shouldn’t allow anyone but a licensed medical consultant to perform your procedure. Look for a cosmetic surgeon or a cosmetic dermatologist to do the job.

Have a appointment with your health practitioner first to establish whether you are a suitable candidate for Botox treatments in your crow’s feet. This is a break for your health practitioner to evaluate your well-being and for you to ask any questions you need answered.

Ask about other procedures to treat crow’s feet. Botox injections do not always treat etched-in wrinkles, so you may need additional procedures like a glycolic acid peel, fillers or brow lift to smooth out pre existing crow’s feet.

Have the procedure done on a slow day. The procedure is fast and relatively painless, but you may have some mild bruising and tenderness round the injection sites. You can return to work straight away, but you may not wish to take meetings with clear needle marks around your eyes.

Use an ice packcold pack to help forestall swelling and bruising at the injection sites. Icing your face before and after the procedure can be useful in this regard. Your Physician should have cold packs available for you to use.

Plan to go back on a consistent basis. Most Botox injections last at least 3 months and some last as long as a year. There will be a point , however , at which the toxin wears off and you’ll have to have the procedure repeated to maintain results.

I’m a guy and my friends make fun of my eyes for being really big. I hate it, I try to squint a lot so it looks like my eyes are smaller, but I can’t do that forever. Is there a surgery out there that raises your lower eyelid a bit so it covers more of the white of your eye, thus making your eyes look smaller? It sounds like a simple thing, but I’m not sure such operations exist.

If not, maybe there’s a surgery to make your eyes baggier, that way they still cover up more of the white of your eyes?

The eyes are a part of us that can tell a lot about us and for many having nice eyes is a crucial factor in choosing a mate. Unfortunately, as we age the area round the eyes can take the strain and give the game away in an otherwise youthful looking face. Even in some young people there can be elements about the eye’s that they may feel need correcting such as fatty deposits in the lower eye bag.

There are some things you can do to prevent this area aging prematurely including the following; Wear sunglasses in bright light to prevent you squinting, wear a moisturiser with a minimum SPF of 15 all year round, stick to a healthy and balanced diet and get plenty of rest (sleep deprivation can take it’s toll on the eye area).

There are of course other factors that can contribute to aging of the eye area including of course your genetics and it is worth remembering that 90-95% of what we perceive to be aging of the skin is actually sun damage so that sunscreen is really worth it. One of the healthiest and most effective things you can do for your skin is to of course keep yourself hydrated and drink plenty of water.

If you do suffer from crows feet at the corners of the eyes then you can lessen the appearance of these by having Botox injected into the area to relax the muscles and give the area a much more relaxed appearance.

If you are suffering from fatty deposits under the eyes which causes a puffy and tired looking appearance you can opt for lower eye bag removal surgery (Blepharoplasty). This is very effective and can make a tremendous difference to the appearance of such an important part of your face.

Remember; the eyes are an important part of your image and despite your best efforts, if you don’t look after this area they will give the game away.

If you are considering cosmetic surgery procedures in the UK such as Blepharoplasty you should seek an accredited surgeon who is registered with BAPRAS or BAAPS to ensure this plastic surgery runs smoothly.

The Wavefront technology in LASIK eye surgery has been touted as the greatest advancement in LASIK eye surgery for the past year or two. But a new innovation has revolutionized the field of LASIK eye surgery which promises to be bigger and better than the Wavefront innovation. This is iris registration.

Before we go into the details of what iris registration is let us first understand how a LASIK surgery is performed.

It takes about five to ten minutes to complete the operation. First a mild anesthetic will be administered. Also eye drops are used to numb the eye and avoid pain during the operation. Though the operation is pain free there have been patients who have complained of discomfort. Once the eye is numb, a little device known as the microkeratome is attached to a suction ring placed on the eye. The microkeratome has a blade which cuts a thin flap on the surface of the cornea. The doctor will next fold back the flap and expose the stroma which is basically a layer of tissue. The stroma is searched for debris and is then dried. Now the surgeon will ask you to focus on a fixed spot while he, with the aid of laser mends the corneal tissue according to results of pre-operation examination. Once through, the flap is put back to position and an eye patch is provided to allow it to heal.

Today the microkeratome has been replaced by Intralase where instead of the metal blade cutting the flap, the job is performed by a computer guided laser.

So what is iris registration? Previously, lasers followed the patient’s eye moving up, down, left or right. Therefore as long as you move your eye left or right or up or down the laser beam can track the movement of the eye fine. However, there are other ways in which you can move your eye. For example, you can you’re your eye closer to the laser or away from it. Iris registration can track such movements and relay them to the laser so that the operation becomes more accurate. So is the case with you eye rotating. You can rotate you eye clockwise or anti-clockwise, which previous lasers wouldn’t have tracked. But Iris registration doesn’t fail here too. This is truly a remarkable progress in the field of LASIK eye surgery.

Nearsightedness

Nearsightedness occurs when the eye is too long and light rays focus in front of the retina, instead of focusing on the retina. Some of the symptoms of nearsightedness are blurred distant vision, eyestrain, and squinting, along with having a difficult time seeing at night.

Although nearsightedness can be easily fixed with glasses or contact lenses (when not too severe), many people don’t like to hassle with either one. With this new lasik procedure, folks will now be able to have pure vision.

If you are one of the increasing number of people who opt for cosmetic surgery to stay looking that little bit younger you can help to extend that new look by taking the following steps to care for your skin.

· Sun protection – make sure you use a day moisturiser with a minimum protection level of 15spf to ensure you don’t allow free radical damage from sun exposure to age your skin more quickly. Between 85-90% of what we consider to be natural aging of the skin is in fact damage caused by sun exposure.

· Water – Make sure you drink at least 2.5 litres of water each day as dehydrated skin can age quicker than more plump hydrated skin. This is especially important in hot weather when your skin is more liable to receive damage.

· Exfoliate – Removing dead surface skin with the use of a good exfoliator a few times a week will allow the new skin to shine through giving you that fresher look. As the exfoliator effectively damages the top layer of skin it causes the skin to repair which is the process needed to keep on top of those fine lines. You can get a more impacting effect by having an acid peel which can effectively take 10 years off the age of your face by removing sun damage and fine lines in the top layers of the skin.

· Expression lines – help keep on top of naso-labial lines (the lines that extend from the nose down to the sides of the mouth) by spelling out the vowels A, E, I, O, U in a slow and pronounced manner to effectively exercise the muscles. To keep on top of those pesky frown lines above the bridge of the nose and between the eyes, make sure you wear sunglasses in bright conditions to ensure you don’t squint. Both of these tips can be especially good to maintain the look of cosmetic surgery procedures such as face lifts and more minor procedures such as chemical peels.

· To give your skin that extra bit of protection make sure you eat plenty of food packed with free radical fighting anti-oxidants such as fresh green veg and dark fruits.

These tips will ensure that your skin is well maintained and your look that little bit fresher. This is especially important if you have employed cosmetic surgery to peel away the years of damage – after all, it would be a shame to spoil that new look.

Maintaining your skin after cosmetic surgery can help to ensure that fresh look lasts that little longer.

cosmetic surgery can help reverse damage done to your skin over many years and help you stay looking younger for longer.

Squint, wandering or crossed eye, scientifically known as Strabismus, is a condition wherein the eyes point in different directions, sometimes necessitating squint surgery. Squint eyes among the adults can develop for many reasons. Some have developed misaligned eyes since childhood. These cases might have undergone some squint, surgery to correct the problem but the eyes have consequently tended to move outward or inward again. Another possible cause is the weakness of the eye muscles. This can be brought about by the damaging of certain nerves that stimulate the eye muscles, which can cause the eye to misalign.

Squint eyes can be treated. The options vary, from simple prescription of a pair of eyeglasses to realign the eyes, to the plastic prisms with the right strength, which can be placed onto the spectacle lenses, and later be incorporated in those lenses themselves.

Also, a drug can be used to correct squint eyes – Botulinum toxin, which weakens the eye muscle but this involves being injected for three to four months. Once the eye is totally numbed with anaesthetic drops, the Botox is injected directly into the right eye muscle, using a very thin needle. But regarding this option, squint surgery is considered the better treatment, as botox is a poison, with unpredictable side effects.

Squint surgery benefits

Squint Surgery aims to reduce double vision to an individual, if present, and at the same time, improves three-dimensional vision. This process can also help avoid the development of abnormal head posture, caused by double vision. This is classified to be a “reconstructive surgery”, and not a cosmetic procedure, for it changes the irregular appearance to a form that is more normal. Since squint or misaligned eyes directly affects a person and his total personality, squint surgery improves the psychosocial function, and employment status of an individual.

The squint surgery involves certain procedures of muscle strengthening and weakening combinations, to align the eye, under a general anaesthetic. The muscles of the eye are like thin flexible bands, and are found 5-6mm edging the coloured part of the eye, lying beneath the conjunctiva.

Squint surgery among many adult patients is carried out using a flexible stitch technique, where the muscles are joined back onto the eye with a bow knot. Surgeons employ this method, which allows them to fine tune the position of the eyes after the operation, with the patient awake, in case the eyes are not yet on proper points. The bow knot can be untied, and the position of the muscle changed, by first putting anesthetic drops to numb the eye, and then continuing until the correct eye position is completed. The squint surgery also involves extremely fine dispersing stitches that do not need to be cut out.

Post squint surgery

The patient’s eye might appear reddish, and become notably distressing for two to three weeks after the surgery, but most patients recover right after two to three days. Swimming is prohibited from two to three weeks after the operation, or until full recovery of the patient. Anti-inflammatory and antibiotic drops are prescribed for the eyes, to be used for the first two weeks after the surgery, to help avoid infection and reduce inflammation in the eyes, following squint surgery.
